This much rice will go a long way.....is it ok to feed as main staple -- they get milk/bran mush also for calcium....they free range during the day and come in at night...fed am & evening.....

I wonder if you are free ranging them and if so, what they might have access to in the area? Rice really is just filler with not much nutritional value. Do you not have a farm store in your area that sells chicken feed?

It will be OK as a treat, maybe not so much as a main staple. It does supply some important vitamins and minerals, plus it is a low fat sources of carbohydrates.
The nice thing is that if you keep it dry it will last a long time.
Score!
