Has anyone gave Soymilk to their chickens. Here is why I bought some Silk thinking health concisious, Well that stuff is horrible, my cat wont even drink it. So instead of wasting it I thought I could give it to my girls today with oatmeal. Do you think it would be okay?

Most chicken feed has soy in it, so it should be fine. It might have a little more sugar than you would generally give a chicken, but I think mixed with some oatmeal would be fine. One carton won't hurt them.

One carton won't hurt them. We try to avoid all soy products for our own health concerns. There is an inflammation of sorts that people who eat at oriental restaurants get that is called "Chinese Restaurant Syndrome". It is caused by the overabundance of soy. Since we don't eat much of anything with additives, preservatives, toxins, etc present, most of our leftovers are really quite healthy for our chooks.

The soy milk won't hurt the chickens, but why anyone would buy the stuff for their own consumption unless they are lactose intolerant is, and has been, a mystery to me. The best dietary advice I ever received was to not eat anything your great grandmother would not recognize as food.
