The Monsanto Protection act? I don't think you understand what you're talking about.

The "Monsanto Protection act" typically refers to HR 933 section 735 - which basically allows the USDA to grant farmers a temporary exclusion to continue to grow a crop (that has been previously growing) instead of immediately pulling it off the market when a lawsuit is pending. This is something the USDA has actually been doing for decades, but was just codified.

If you think a bill that tells farmers they don't have to burn their crops when someone sues the seed company is evil, then I don't know what to say.

I was actually waiting for you to come upon this thread. Glad you're here.

So i went to Tractor supply i got a 50lb bag of Nutrena normal price $15.99 on sale for $13.99 ,had a $2 off coupon so it was $11.99.
Manna Pro organic was $11.99 for a 10 lb bag,It is the only size they have, $11.99 x 5 = $59.95 for 50 Lbs.
Now if i drove 90 miles round trip to Family Farm and Home i could have got Graham's Organic 50lb for $29.99 plus $12 for gas = $41.99 plus the carbon foot print to get there and back.

Yeah no..would not spend 60 dollars on feed like that. Lol. 11.99 for 10 lb, that's like buying multiple small premium dog food bags for a dog that is 100 lb.

I could possibly understand spending more for a better feed during Summer, but I personally couldn't never afford those prices in Winter. Are the commercial feeds really that terrible? Anyone know of a happy medium?

They really aren't that terrible. Its just whatever you prefer to buy. I like to by feed that can be used for any stage of life, and supplement oyster shells.

Buy whatever you want. Check for mold or anything off in the bag, and take it back if you have to. Commercial feeds are fine to feed, despite a trend of not liking them.
