Golden Laced Wyannadotte Can't Walk

Okay, okay, Goldie's a pullet! A future hen.

And yup, you are very calm now, and you have never been rude!

But you were responding to your own posts so fast it sounded panicky. Sometimes people have to ponder something for a little while. I was following along, but you were getting good advice and I couldn't have added anything helpful.

If no one else had responded, I would have, and always will! You did a good job managing an emergency situation, and I hope Goldie continues to improve.

She seems scared to put any wait on it. She is verry happy. This is weird: When I put her to bed at night she starts peeping EXTREMELY loudly

Her foot probably still hurts. Even a sprain takes a while to heal and stop hurting. It is very good that the swelling has gone down even more.

Maybe she is peeping so loudly because she wants her buddies. Chicks don't like to be alone. When you put her to bed, can she see the other chicks? It might help if she could.

She is in our chicken run with them right now!!!!

During the day I have ben putting her in her little hospitatal outside next to the other chicks. She is getting well enough that she can do that!!!

Also, ranchhen, that is so weird!!! not in a bad way... but thankyou for fainaly speaking up!!

Be sure that she is not being forced by the others to walk on the foot and that she doesn't have to compete for food and water. She needs to rest the leg in order for it to heal properly. If there is a fracture or a sprain, she needs to use it as little as possible for a while.

she is so good at not walking on it!!!!! she walks with them and she hops on her good foot and flaps her wings. The weird thing is is that she can still roost. The food container in our "hospital" has a lip thing on it that she roosts on..... weird

Yes, but now that she is doing better, wouldn't it be best to allow someone else to get the attention? You don't need the "PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!" anymore...you're bird is on the mend!
