I'm also baffled by this debate. I've tried it one time just out of curiosity. The pineapples added so little to the flavor that I barely noticed they were there. I'm not honestly sure why people love it or hate it so much.

Totally understandable! For me I love the taste of the pineapple and especially the sweet and salty factor when added with ham
