Hey guys, I was just wondering if I should put gulf balls in my nesting boxes. I have a 4 month old Black Australorp and RIR who haven't started laying yet.

I've got golf balls in my nests.

Right now one of my hens, who is determined to lay on the coop floor in a nest of her own making has been stealing the golf balls out of the nest to put in her floor nest.

Every day I put them back, every day she takes them.

I'm not sure which hen, but I suspect Teriyaki. *Maybe* Popcorn.

I open nests at 15 weeks and put a ceramic egg in each. I leave them in nests, only remove to clean as needed.
I've added a second fake to less popular nests when one nest is the favorite.
There's one golf ball in each of my nest boxes. When I took one out of the most used box to give them more space, they stopped laying in it. 🤣
Yeah, I've heard they feel it's not a safe place to lay. GC

That is absolutely hilarious! I'm dying just trying to picture it
