Well....she's your mom. She has that right. I won't ask how old you are, but it sounds like mid teens maybe. I, too, will not willingly allow my children to make any permanent body modifications until they are of legal age to sign for it themselves. (That's 18 in the majority of states.) Except earrings for the girls, I am okay with, but just one set. Which probably sounds funny if you see mine.

BUT I didn't get my first other than one set of lobe piercings until I was like 29!

What are you wanting to get done to your ears?

Like I said, at one time, I had 4 lobes, 3 helix (2 on one side, 1 on the other) and a tragus. I don't exactly work in a professional environment, but I also do work with the public. I have a job, though, that truly, I could have piercings and tattoos from head to toe and it would not effect my job or whether I could work. It WOULD effect how people view me. You may not care about that now, but think of as you get older, as you're a parent (what your children may feel/think), etc. I know it's a long way, but with something permanent, you really have to think about it.

I'm also one that thinks some piercings look better on guys than girls and vice versa.

He has a lip ring and I think he looks so good with it, but I would look stupid.

Some people look good with eyebrow rings, others don't. Same with nose rings. Some look great with studs, some with little hoops.

IMO, a ton depends on your facial structure, choice in piercing and jewelry, etc.
