Well, I have 11 Speckled Sussex living in my bathtub. I've never had chickens before so this should be exciting. Thanks to one of the coop plans I saw here I've decided to jump right in. The chicks are 12 days old now and all seem very happy and are all eating well. Today I'll build the coop. I'm thinking of adding corrugated tin to deter predators. When should I start giving crushed egg shells/treats/scratch? Or should they just remain on the chick feed? Thanks in advance for your help. Can't wait to get a pic up.

Build that coop to free up the bath tub or invest in lots of deodorant.

Egg shells crushed about month 5

What kind of treats, for right now a treat should be a hard boiled egg smashed up real good and served with a smile

Scratch about week 8 but they should still be getting turkey grow with 20%+ protein for their growth and it just helps with the health

Keep them safe, warm, clean water, good feed and you should have a healthy flock
