Taxing the rich is not going to help at all! It creates more issues. What needs to be done is CUT the SPENDING on ALL unnecessary things.

And those unnecessary things are.....SS, medicare....what exactly?

More taxes on the wealthy? And just who are the wealthy? Where do they live? They live in the Middle East and the Far East. They are well beyond our taxing authority.

Penalizing people for hard work and initiative is just bad for the economy. People become less productive and more indolent. Excessive taxes and onerous regulations drive capital and talent out of the country. We will soon become a third world nation. We will be another Zimbabwe.

If I was younger, I would consider emigrating. Soon we will begin to see people leaving this country because there is no work and no real economic opportunity. The US will become a country of old folks and social parasites.

Such a large portion of our society has become addicted to the opium of social welfare, and they will not understand when there is no more goodies to be had. It is like feeding a bear. When you run out of marsh mellows and potato chips, you are the next thing on the menu.

I am scared!

You know, I work hard for my money, and pay way more taxes the the folks in the top 2%. so what are you really saying here?
Most of the people I know are not living on welfare, they are hard working individuals that are seeing their jobs desolve even with the wealthy getting the tax breaks. So when they say it is important to keep the breaks for the rich to encourage job growth, I say balony, otherwise they would be putting more people to work NOW. Coorporations and those who own them need to pay their fair share and just stop whining about it. The middle class has been doing it for years and for most of us we are sick of getting the short end of the stick.

There are a lot of these budget games out there. Some are very simplistic, some are more sophisticated. They are good to play to see what it takes to balance the budget. It is almost impossible to do with simply spending cuts. It is also interesting to see what priorities are simply by what questions are asked. The three largest areas of the budget are social security, heathcare and defense.
