This time of year predators are at the worst at getting into pens and killing birds. 8 do you have all your geese penned at night? I know I do. We have even put hardware clothe around the bottom on the bi dog kennels we have. We have tarps on the top but under the tar we have wire all on the top so they can not get into the geese. Now we have it around all but two pen now and need to finish those before winter hits.

Gf I hope Emma has nothing serious. Have you given her extra calcium from laying eggs? I always put my females and gander onto the multiflock and put walmarts Patio, Porch and deck shelled nuts. The is also a Nuts and Berries mix I give also.  My gosh do they love the nuts and it gives extra calcium to them for the bones....

Yep i pen everything at night, last thing i do in the evenings is herd everything in and shut them inside the houses. My goslings were in a brooder 4 1/2 ft off the ground i built it tall so dogs couldnt bother anything in it. Has solid floor ,Plywood sides half way up, then rabbit wire, with barbed wire looped around the top of the legs and the roof(safe for animals inside though). Looks like a miniature jail but i wanted to make sure it would be a chore for something to get in it. Which worked, after he got the rabbit wire off he must have chomped at them and tried pulling them through the hole. I think in the process he lost his balance and fell into the looped wire getting his tail an leg caught. Or maybe he was caught to start with. Either way he didnt get loose and was subjected to a little lead poisoning lol

My husband says he thinks a raccoon got in there first and did all the damage and then the opossum came in for free bee's and got more than he ask for. Ron said coons tear up anything with them finger!!! I know they do they pulled one of my runners when I had them, right through the cyclone fence dog kennel. Then went over to the hardware cloth that was one by two inch and pulled an almost full grown call duck out through the wires. It just made me sick!!!

Since thats probably the case ill be setting my box traps then. Ive seen a coon in my mulberry trees this week which is 300 yards from the barn, but they will go anywhere. He may find some tuna in the trap tomorrow evening. It makes me sick too. Those poor little babies. Im gonna catch any coon or possum i can, thin them out some since no one hunts them much around here any more there are too many coons now.

Catch them all 8! Because they will just keep coming back for more once they find what I call the walk through snack bar!!! Our birds!! Get them trap out their with stink Tuna.... You go girl!!!

That would be great to see on your property! But I am afraid that you might not have any trees left or grass at all needing 100 pounds of food per day by just one elephant!
