Goose eggs 7 days candling...

I think these eggs may have died, and would like to pull the plug as soon as it’s confirmed. Nest was abandoned after a raccoon attack took 3 other eggs, they have been in the incubator 8 days now. Opinions? First pics right egg, second set left egg. Hand turning and my incubator can’t quite keep temperatures high enough 98.9-99.3 average.

I can see a darker mass, but no viens eggs are also very dirty.

Try wiping the eggs with damp tissue so that you can candle and see through the inside of it clearly.... Maybe there's some veins but you could not see it because it is blocked by the dirtiness of the eggshell.

Candle up through the fat end of the egg. Go in a dark room. Embryo should be visible as well as veins.

I was advised to just use a dry cloth... they haven’t been subjected to the best conditions

You can use a damp paper towel and lightly remove the dirt. A toothbrush works too. I never Candle till around day 10 because then you clearly see development if any..

Also I don't slosh around eggs at all . I turn twice a day with great success and only handle for candling at day 10 then just before lockdown.

Ok I’ll start trying to clean them off more when I turn them, and will try again in a few days.

They are on my 100 watt, 200ah solar system, and it’s straining my electrical set up a bit keeping both them and my brooder plates going 24/7 with the rain we’ve been having. So the sooner I have confirmation on viability the better!

These ones were sloshed a bit when the raccoons got the nest, then a bit chilled while I rushed down to pick them up because mama wouldn’t sit on the relocated nest, and had to travel three miles of rough dirt roads to get to the incubator... I know, not the best circumstances by a long shot. I’ve been turning 3 times a day at 7, 3, and 11 and I tried to drive as slowly and carefully as possible, I was doing about 5 km/h and crawling over the bumps. Im not too optimistic about their chances...

Anytime they get busted like that before an internal pip they die...Sorry your wasting your time .....
