missprissy my mom said to stop trying to get me to hatch geese. I told her I want to hatch some and she said "wait till the move " lol

Stevie, mind your mother. No geese until the move!

I have more goose eggs due to hatch next weekend, too.

Sounds aggravating. Good luck! You are being cautious, so I bet everything will turn out well.

But after all this, I think you will find sending a goose to the Christmas table may be a touch more difficult.

Well, future decorum dependent.

I have had chicks that were taking a long time to hatch get so dried out that it looked like they were shrink wrapped! I have had to wet my finger in warm water and rub until their wings unglued them selves from across the eyes. It looked like what's left on the plate after you eat eggs sunny side up and leave it in the sink without rinsing!
The poor chicks end up looking like the god of hair gel got really mad and took it out on them, but as long as all the moving parts (and orifices!)were freed up, I just left them and within a week or so, they had preened themselves to normal appearance.
Sometimes it's the white outer membrane that is really tough and dry and sometimes the inner gooey/gluey one.

so if the membrane feels like leather or brown its to dry right? What if it feels kind of like rubber?

The one with his beak out looks like he wants out. He has been struggling since morning. What do I do? There has been no improvement. Should I just leave him be and see what happens?

Does the fact we're not hearing from her mean her nose is stuck to the bator?
