Goose gave me a scare, followed by 1st Vet visit

I am so sorry, I just lost my own goose and I know how much it hurts.

I hope you find a great home for Nine.

Words can't express how truly sad I am for your loss...I didn't know April but I do know the intense love and emotion I feel for my own geese. I couldn't help but be consumed with sadness reading this thread. I pray you find a loving, forever home for your gander and that you and your parents will be left with only the joyful memories that those two precious creatures were able to provide. I'm so sorry.

Its much appreciated. Thank you.

Going Bhonkers,

I am so sorry. I know how you felt about your geese and I am so sorry for your loss. It saddens me to see how many geese have been lost in such a short time. I hope you find a new home for Nine.
Thank you. I know that you can relate on how tough it is for your gander. I hope your new goslings get to you soon. I could really use a happy ending.

I'm sorry to hear that you've lost one too. I know there will be a point where we can smile when we remember their silly antics. Thank you for your wishes for Nine.

GB, any response on a home for Nine? How is he doing?

I'm taking a flyer I made about him to the feed store today. Crossing my fingers that someone AMAZING sees it. If anyone has room on their prayer list, please add him/us.
He's been ok so far. I've been making sure he eats. I dont think he's grazed as much since we lost April. I've taken him to the spots they used to focus on and sat for there a while so that he'd feel comfortable grazing, but I dont think its the same. As I told Celtic, he honks anytime he's left alone (when we go inside, even for just a second) that it reminds me when they were goslings.
I'm taking any chore I can outside to keep him company, my mom was with him a lot on Saturday. He's still eating his feed thankfully. Loves his corn.

Oh, I almost forgot! I did get a response on the "Animals in need of re-homing" section of BYC, a user in Tallahassee responded. Tallahassee is about 7 hours away & gas prices being how they are, we're hoping that we get a response a little closer. I wish more people from my area were on here. But lets see how it goes at the feed store.

Here's hoping...

I'm pleased to report that Nine is having a good day so far. He stayed with my dad while I delivered some flyers and behaved really well. I took over babysitting when I got home and was happy to see him grazing more. THANK GOODNESS

Thanks to you both! Still need your prayers, Haunted, as unfortunately Miss Lydia, it doesnt look like we will. My parents went back & forth about it for a while but have settled that we should still make the intent of finding him a new home where he can join a flock, provided that the owners treat their animals well.

If we aren't able to find anyone we'll work on getting him some company asap, but that just gets all sorts of complicated... if we find 2 females, being affected by the loss of our goose, we'll be so nervous when they lay. If we find him another gander, we'll worry if they fight (even though I've read countless threads saying that having 2 males together is okay, I think about when we had 2 male dogs... they didnt fight often but when they did it was so terrible. Dont want to go through that again) So yeah, complicated.
