Marty you can use a piece of 1/4" PVC or small black of wood to help hold open while giving meds too. Yes they are like bear traps for sure. On another front Daisy Duke (momma muscovy) is hatching 5 or 6 ducklings right now (saw one this morning) hoping for a couple of girls in the group we can grow out some and get over to you if you are interested. they will stay with momma until feathered here.

still no scanning. Just pre shipment notice of a package to be expected. Given the holiday week, this doesnt sit well with my nerves to follow their progress in transit. I usually dont get worried about a live shipping, but this one has me concerned.

I just got off the phone with my local post office lady in charge of getting express mail to planes. The night clerk forgot to scan the geese, but they left to get on plane 2 hours ago. They should arrive this evening in Orlando, like the last shipment.

good to know, first time ever to have a box of lives ( not to mention 4 boxes) not be scanned at drop off or for processing. Hopefully no hick ups along the way since they werent scanned the USPS has no record of them now and arent liable if they go missing.
