I dont think you can see the difference unless you make a group change. I couldnt figure out why the sebbies were blowing out when should be feathering out. Why the silver appleyards were looking wetter than normal. Why the rescues were't eating what they had just been on at your place. I ordered in corn for the rescue 5, but they wont touch it. It is left every day after they clear out the oats. They love the mazuri and wheat and millet though. Although I have to wait for spring millet prices again they shot up more and its not cost effective.

I knew I was happy on the mazuri with looks and what not, but now I am convinced to not change. The sebbies have to look good for people to appreciate them to their fullest. Loosing feathers in fall is not acceptable. Plus running a risk of effecting fertility and hatch rates is not something I am willing to do.

He will be here at home full time, or until I feel the need to kill him LOL. Actually we have lots of plans and sit daily right now discussing the flocks and housing and the next years projects. Fun times I tell ya separating from the military. Its weird at the same time to be looking at being a civilian family again. His retirement is what allowed us to add the Dewlaps, they are his flock and he so enjoys them. This week we have been looking at final colored sebastopol stock and sorting of stalls.

I told my husband he is going to have to get a part time job because I would most like kill him if he was here all day everyday. lol

I would have to special order to get Mazuri waterfowl feed here. The feed stores carry some of the other Mazuri feeds like ferret and llama but no duck. Since they have been unable to get in simple things like shavings in a regular manner I am not crazy about relying on them for special feed orders. Its a bummer, I would like to try it.

Dont kill him he has been through enough LOL, seperating from the military will take some adjustments for both of you. More Dewlaps is always a good thing
Interesting observations on the mazuri vs. flockraiser. My africans and every rescue goose on property gets flockraiser/whole corn/whole oats, while my personal dewlap group gets mazuri. Everyone who has been around the rescue group over the past 3 months has commented how beautiful they are filling out and feathering in, and my vet could not tell a difference in who was fed what.

I do not have to send your geese on the 22nd if it is a problem. We will be on vacation the week after the 22nd, but can send them the following week.
Paulla is out getting pics now Napolean and Josephine are doing great and full members of the flock Josephine's Dewlap is starting to come in more and has grown larger than Napolean they both send alot of the day in the kiddy pool. I know you shouldnt have favorites but Napolean & Josephine they have become that to me and they talk to me everytime they see me so I will be spending alot of time in the winter outside with them to

Jerry, I love hearing updates and can't wait for pics! I swear I am continually seeing bigger dewlaps and keels on my guys that weren't there the day before. I am having so much fun watching them develop.

OOOH! I am so jealous and I can't wait for my Dewlap Toulouse to get here! My mare with the leg injury is doing much better, so this weekend will be full-on goose house construction time. My dad and I are planning on putting it on wheels, so I can move it around in the front pasture and section off parts for them, rotating them around as they eat it down. It will be quite cute when done!

Very happy to hear your mare is doing better! I can't wait to send you your pair! They are very lucky ganders to be going to your home!!
LOL about being jealous. Wait until you see the pics of where we are going.

Sunk the first permanent pool in the ground yesterday and did a test filling. Had the Gander from our original 4 pack trying to breed the big goose who shipped in with the fantastic 5.

They seemed peeved with me when I drained it for finishing touches.

Pictures (of the pool, not the, ahem, activities)? Please? We are planning a permanent pool for our geese.

its empty today, but will be putting the plug in tonight or tomorrow and filling it. Its the small one of the two we plan for the front left. Hoping to place 2 or 3 per large yard, 1 per breeding yard.

Nice pictures Jerry.
