Good morning, my friends. Spirit continues to steadily improve. Her appetite has returned and she is getting a little better with getting around. I was excited about putting her outside today, but I woke up to an email from my vet, stating that while I could take her outside with me for short periods of time, she is not to be left outside unsupervised until he gives clearance. At least we can expand the indoor pen to give her more space to move around.
Galgo, they used isoflurane for anesthesia and also injected her with pain medication before and after the surgery (do not remember what kind... not meticam, though). She is now receiving 1.5 cc 2x daily of meticam from me.
Ruru, how awful for your goose to have that accident, but wonderful that you went the extra mile to fix her leg!! And not to worry about Spirit being alone... Ember has been her "sacrificial companion" from day one. Poor thing.... but she loves Spirit very much and is the perfect companion.
