Gosling hatched with yolk sack still attached! Please Help!!!

Hi Guys,

I have my first gosling hatched this morning in incubator. I helped it out of his shell and found out that yolk sac is still attached. It's pretty big too. I am attaching picture. Please help!!

i dont think you should have helped it

it needs to do all that by itself

golings can take upto 3 days to hatch

and thats is mainly why they rest and absorb the yolk

Let her lay very still if she is still breathing they do on occasion still obsorb that sack in to their bellys

Being that it is too late to say dont help what I have done with chickens in the past while I learned from my mistakes not to help.. is very gently let it lay and softly stimulated it with a cloth to help dry it . About every 30 minutes or so I gently took another cloth and turned it so the yolk wouldnt stick to the towl.. I have had a few survive.. sadly most do not end well.. is she still breathing nicely ?

I should have added and kept it in the incubator as much as possible for warmth

as They would coming out on their own too.. they always rest a lot right after .. I wouldnt fuss with her as much while she is breathing nicely just enough to turn her so the yolk wont stick .. Ohh I hope you have good Luck !!!! I am guilty of making this mistake ..

if you have a 2nd incubator put the gosling in the incubator at 95 degrees f, and just hope that it wont die.Most young birds that people help out of the egg (not your falt you didnt know) dont survive,sometimes your very lucky and they do live. 2 out of 6 chicks i saw hatch under broody hens and in incubators lived from not fully absorbing their yolk. i've decieded to search and experience hatching,breeding, and raising chickens. I hope your gosling lives!!!
