Goslings of 2014 Hatch-a-long

Has anyone had a goose differ from year to year on hatching? Like 28 days one year and 32 days the next? Last year she was on chinese and chinese x tufteds, this year she is on tufteds and tufted toulouse, being heavier breeds than last year, would it be safe to assume they are taking longer? My Maggie is on day 32 and still i cant hear peeping or see any movement under her wings like before. Ive been looking in on her a lot and still she hasnt threw a gosling at me lol

Oh, that´s so disappointing, no gosling-throwing activity this year!! Well, mine are small geese, they always hatch under 30 days. I would guess the bigger the egg, the longer it takes to cook?

Im pretty sure my toulouse pair and their siblings hatched at 32 and 33 days. So we could still be on schedule. I know my chinese and chinese crosses hatched at 28 & 30 days.
In the incubator my lavender tufted toulouse hatched at day 30 but thats not under a goose.
She has 5 eggs under her which i never got a chance to candle. The only good sign i have is she has been sitting tight since wednesday without coming off to eat. Hopefully everything is ok.

Now this is just my thoughts on this. I would think the smaller geese do maybe hatch sooner and the larger breeds take a few more days to develop. Takes Sebastopol's eggs 30 days and sometime a day or two more. But also believe depending on the goslings too. I have had some hatch on day 29.

Thanks Ruru that gives me a little more hope. Its also been raining and nasty so i thought maybe she was keeping them warm.

Hard to say. Mine like to guard their nests and keep eggs warm before going officially broody. Delta hatched her gosling 45 days after she claimed her nest and Beignet hatched her goslings approximately 35 days after claiming her nest.

RuRu is right with the small type geese hatch faster because ive geese that hatch babies at 29 and they are all from the small goose types while my big breeds take way longer! Oh and Iain sorry for your loss ! :(
