Goslings of 2014 Hatch-a-long

Yes, serv, I remember now about your friend you told us about. Well, that blows my theory out the window, then!!

Well, just put some Brewer´s Yeast in their water, might help....or thawed peas!!!!!!

....and I always love to put frozen peas in the second and beyond baths. The first bath is simply too fun to watch as is.
I take a chunk of frozen, and they will break it apart...then I will scoop a pea and hold it in front of them. Fun times. Ducks too.

Congrats to all those who had hatches! You're getting me so excited! My first two are due this Friday, although I've seen on here that some of yours are going past day thirty, which makes me wonder how to know when to lock down? Mine have slightly misshaped air cells because they were shipped so looking for the dip down is hard. Plus one of them looks like it may already have the dip down but it's only at day 23 so that's highly unlikely.

Here is the solitary geb! His mother is Chinese/Embden, but I'm not sure whether his father is embden, toulouse, or african/embden, or chinese/toulouse. There is a slight chance that his father is seb/tufted roman, although I don't notice a tuft. (Red lights make for horrible pics, don't they?)

Whatever s/he is, he is in love with the gosling in the mirror! (hoping gosling due tomorrow is successful)

Just go ahead and do it according to a 30-day hatch.

I forgot about listing frozen peas, as they´re difficult to come across here. Cans of peas with corn is easy enough, but would be expensive for so many geese. I know they exist, though. I´ll look out for the frozen ones. I want to have some of this fun!!

We might not have them in boxes anymore like they used to, so I can't get the excitement of watching them break it up, but we have them in bags. They'd still float, and probably be a funny sight to watch the geese chase each pea around.

Okay, here are updated pics of Miracle, Hope, and Wonder.

This is Hope and Wonder. Hope looked much lighter when she was wet, but I'm definitely saying female now. That pattern is unmistakeably feminine for a sebastopol goose.

And this is Miracle. She has been a no-doubt female from the beginning.
