Goslings of 2014 Hatch-a-long

We have have been calling our solitary boy gosling "Reece" after the character in Malcolm in the Middle. He's kind of a bully (to the ducklings) with no apparent motivation and seemingly limited decision making abilities. Here's hoping he shapes up and smarts up soon!

Seems very fitting. :) Does he have any goosey friends due? Lucy isn't showing signs of being a very nice goose. She's getting very bitey with her puppy play mate who puts up with a lot from her. She doesn't like water or lettuce! (Is it even a goose?!) She will be getting a name change to Christmas dinner if this is a sign of things to come!

Sure sounds like a girl. My first goslings (toulouse) one was sweet the other was a witch. They will be 2 yrs old in june. Serv says they are male and female(i knew one was a gander), the male was the sweet one and the one he said is female is the witch, still that way.

I just had to post pictures because this ridiculously cute and ridiculously funny. The silkies all hatched (they beat the other goose egg) so they got moved into Cookie's box (I named the first gosling Cookie). She immediately decided she did not care for them. Well, I didn't take them out, so she went into the corner to sulk and complain to her flamingo.

Then the silkies thought they might like to cuddle with her but she was having none of that and retreated to the other end of her flamingo. I think she's begging me to get rid of the strange fluffy things.

Yep, she doesn´t need strange fluffy things....her little friend is hiding from them too, the other side of the other flamingo... What wonderful protective birds these flamingos are!

Oh, no! All that excitement and she´s (or he´s) a beast! Out of the possible breeds you mentioned, most of them are generally quite easy, except some Embdens can be a handlful going by what I´ve read from folks..so maybe you have one of them?

OK, so let´s hope the other eggs give you something sweet. At least this gosling is keeping Moose company, which is what you wanted.

That is so cute, she like cuddly things as long as they don't move or peep.

I have my first Sebastopol gosling of 2014 RURU Sebastopol's!!!!!
I am asking people to guess what color this gosling is??? Here are the first pictures of the baby. I am thrilled with my first gosling.....

Aha!! I found it, (been trailing through the threads and posts to find the first pic) so this is a buff, then, not a lavender. Ruru, if you get a lavender hatch, could you put it on for comparison please?

8,

Well I guess that's a good thing. Can't ask for better than one of each to start with. Know any good 'witchy' names?

Liv,

I think it's a given that she is at last half embden as that's what the majority of the flock was. The little white patches are getting more obvious. Just waiting for her big goosey feathers to come through. They have Have several play dates a day but she's too little to leave out. Not to mention she screams like she's being murdered if Im more than 2 feet away! :-D
