Goslings of 2014 Hatch-a-long

LOL!! That is a pic of Forest and my son! Ethel is a muscovy hen. Ethel is the older duck that has a "spot" in her eye that I posted about last month.
Ah, I remember Ethel! How´s she doing?
Re. behaviour, it´s not unusual for muscovies. They´re a bit cantankerous.
Miss Lydia, I love you new profile pic!
Yes, me, too. I keep forgetting to say....

Well it is nearly the time of year again to sell my geese again :)

goslings*
Someone say goslings?
They´re on their way! Pilgrim x Normandy type. I can hear 4 so far, she´s sitting on 7 eggs. Maybe by Monday.....

Then I´ll be able to see what this cross produces. I´m hoping for little yellowish males, and darker grey and saddleback females. See what happens.
Then I have 8 more due next weekend, Pilgrim. We´ll see how those go, as that goose often has low hatching results.
And the weekend after, the other Normandy, and then it´s just the other geese that I´ve left with a couple of eggs to keep them happy....

The only one not doing much yet is a mix-breed pied female with her dozy pied gander.

Geese are very popular here yes people have them for food mostly but breeding also (Commercial. type geese are mostly bred also mixed breeds and brown Chinese too)
Irish people tend to love baby ducklings and goslings so they sell fast (but i don't have ducks)
