Yeah, I've told my daughter not to run from them but she did anyway and now they know she is afraid. One bit her on the leg the other day and he is lucky he is still alive. My husband is not fond of animals that hurt our daughter. Just gotta make it through breeding season or hope someone buys them from me.
Never heard a female give the victory yell.Time will tell but i may not have a gander after all. Even though i have seen mating from a distance. With a 4 month old its impossible to run out and look to be sure. Anyway with the first 3 eggs not being fertile & the other 3 being only on day 5 im not so sure. A much smaller goose egg appeared day before yesterday. Smaller than stormy's eggs and she is on her 2nd season. Ethel will be 4 this year and i do not think it is big enough to be hers. Today there should be another so i will see if it is any bigger, maybe its small because its her first of the season. Like i said time will tell. I might have messed myself up by not keeping one of those ganders i saved and assuming my young one was a gander. I did hear the victory honk though so maybe the egg is Ethels and the young one is a gander & just not fertile yet...
I hope not but maybe still too young?Me neither. He may be shooting blanks
He will be a year old May 26 th. Might be.
