got a bee bee gun

I think I'm going to ask for a shotgun or rifle for Christmas. I wanna shoot clay pigeons. I was thinking pump shotgun because I could get one that doesn't require perfect aim. Or I could get a .22 rifle that would be kinda fun. I really can't decide. But guns are fun (only after a safety course). If anyone is looking to get a gun of any kind, go to a shooting range, sign up for the class, rent a gun and practice. Then go buy a gun. Along with a gun comes a responsibility--not to shoot the innocent!
I hope I'm not preaching, maybe I am, but, if there was an animal other than the neighbor's dog that was after my chickens, I have the right to defend my property, (and a license.)

You can defend your chickens from the neighbors dog too. Just a thought

Well, I like the one side neighbor, they are considerate, and the dog gets tied up during the day. I would warn him a few times first by saying I have rat poison under my sheds. Karen

Shotguns don't require perfect aim, has nothing to do with being a pump action, semi-auto, lever, etc. It's simply a function of the cone shaped pattern of shot discharge from the barrel.

It's not as simple as that. If you think it is, and you go blasting away at things, you may well find yourself up on criminal charges and facing some hefty lawsuits. You frequently do not have the right to defend property with a firearm. Not even when you clearly have the predatory animal in sight. Some animals are more protected than others, some areas are more prohibitive to firearms than others, etc.
