My parents got me just what I wanted for my 20th birthday: a new camera! (It's a Nikon D3100 18-55 VR Kit, in case anyone wondered.) Sometimes, I feel so spoiled by them...
Anyway, on to the interesting part!
The birds:
(Don't mind the bald patches and Blu-Kote; we're having feather-picking issues that should *hopefully* resolve when we expand the chicken run.
)
It had just finished raining and the girls were sunning and preening to dry off.
Miss Tyto Bald-Spot getting some sun on her wing.
Old Twisty napping in the driveway.
Skua REALLY stretched out her wing!
Mocha catching some rays.
Olive, who's kind of napping and sunning. XD
Raven, drying off in the sun.
Amy (upper) and Martha (lower)
Martha dozing:
Martha sunning:
Wow, didn't realize how many pics of Martha I took! XD
Sienna has such a pretty eye...
...Yes, I meant 'eye'.
Sparrow is mad at me for stopping her from brooding in the 100-degree weather yesterday.
Blizz: "No pictures until I straighten my feathers, please."
"I thought I said no pictures."
Corella: "It's the food-bringer! It's the food-bringer!"
"...You're saying you have no treats?"
Martha again. XD
Big old Cubby:
Twisty:
Rosie:
Tyto Bald-Spot:
Skua by the chicken dayspa:
This is old Toes, our oldest bird. I think he's a Delaware/cross.
The young'ns are about 10 weeks old now! (I didn't get pictures of all of them, though.)
Betty:
Mags:
Mako (I love the ripple coming off Wynne's beak in the background, too) :
Wynne:
Little Thomas:
A bunch of the little ones drinking (they aren't so little anymore...)
The Guineas were very curious about the camera:
Around the property:
This is one of the girls' favorite place to hang out, the big forsythia bush at the corner of the driveway.
Here, you can kinda see how much room they have under there!
This is the sideyard with my back to the house. The girls graze out here around my niece's playset and we have a chair out here to relax and watch the birds do their thing.
This is a little to the left of the last shot, looking toward the woods from the sideyard.
This is the area of the woods the girls seem to frequent most. (Don't mind the fence, we're replacing it soon for a dog run.)
We have spearmint growing where our garden used to be, and it's just flowering:
Tiger Lily
And that's all.
I went from 26% to 54% on my uploads just now, too! If I keep this up, I'm gonna have to look into another place to upload pictures to!
