Got a soft one today...

My girls have been laying a few weeks now... all perfect and in the nest boxes. Today I went out and my BA was all fluffed up and walking funny, and all of a sudden she laid an egg right in front of me. It was smaller than the others, and felt like a water balloon.

Should I be concerned?

Sounds like she's a new layer who just hasn't gotten the kinks all worked out yet. I say this because she seemed to not know she was about to lay an egg (so new layer) and because it was soft, which happened a lot when mine first started laying. As long as she's acting normal now, not still fluffed up and acting odd, I wouldn't worry about it at all.

She's acting fine, but today I went out and there was another soft one in the next box. They are on layer and have oyster shells available at all times... I mix egg shell into treats... Just weird that everything was fine for a few weeks and now this.

1 of my pullets was laying soft eggs and double yolkers for the 1st month she's laying fine now I wouldn't worry.
