Got broodies?

We just went through day of below 0 weather, thur. -17, fri -19 now I've got 4 broodies.
Can't they tell its not spring yet.

The good thing is I've eggs in the incubator, I won't have to brood them all.

I can sympathize - I have 3 broodies rt now (Game hen, Cuckoo Maran & Blue Cochin).

Such crazy little girls! Yours have gotta be a LOT colder than mine are & they're still broody. They're so funny, sure doesn't seem to matter what time of yr it is, if they got the broody itch, they got the broody itch and by gosh they're gonna brood. Our cuckoo maran has been as mean as a ticked off hornet since she's been broody & she didn't have a name until she went broody. If you've ever seen the ventriliquist Jeff Dunham, our cuckoo maran's name is now Akmed since she's as mean as a terrorist.

Hi,

Yup, I have 3 broody Silkies, guess they don't care what time of year it is. But, as I mentioned in another post, they are sitting on everyone else's eggs and keeping them from freezing. So I can't complain! Genie
