Got flu mist up the nose..now IM SICK

Flumist is a live virus vaccine.Just treat yourself as if you had the flu and all should be well. They say the flu from the flumist is more mild than the actual flu.

Get the lot number for the dose you got and report your reaction on VAERS.It helps so they can track issues and revamp the vaccines.

You can do it online if you have the lot number. If you happen to develop any serious side effects then you can file with NVICP if the flumist is even covered under the vaccine injury program.

Speedy healings!

I've never heard of a snortable vaccine.
They are live viruses but can't replicate themselves so technically everyone gets sick, just depends how severely your body reacts to it. I never show symptoms after the flu shot but I get it every year, I know a lot of first timers who did though.

I;m all for getting vaccinated for the flu because my partner NEVER got vaccinated and NEVER caught the flu until he was 23 then he caught swine flu. Because his body had no experience with any kind of flu he had a severe reaction, his kidneys failed, he got muscle meltdown, his brain swelled, also the runny nose, aches and sleepiness but who cares about that with the rest!!!

He can't remember two weeks of his life because of it and his body looked like it belonged to a 10yr old when he came out or his three week stint in hospital. Normally he's quite well muscled and I could see almost every vertebrae in his spine he was so thin. He also had to have dialysis every two days and avoid eating any salt for three months.

Hubby hasn't taken the flu shot in about 3 years because he say every time he does he gets sick...
I haven't ever taken the shot.. sometimes I get the flu and sometimes it misses me completly... I thought about the mist but now I don't know.

Forget the mist.

I get the shot every year since I got the Swine flu and the Seasonal flu 2 weeks after it. After the swine flu, the seasonal was a walk in the park!
