Finally! :)

From left to right:
Roscoe, chocolate Muscovy duck
Boogie, chocolate atipico Muscovy juvenile
Howie, rescued Pekin mix duck
Frankie, buff Muscovy drakelet
Daphne, blue fawn Muscovy duck
Bleu, blue magpie Muscovy duck
All hatched 2019

Howie started laying about three weeks ago, and one of my Muscovy girls layed for me this morning for the first time (different shell, much smaller egg). If you couldn't guess from their names, we're not very good at identifying duck genders yet!
No problem. It gets easier with time, depending on the species, age, and coloring etc. Still you have beautiful ducks and nice pics of them to cherish.

I have a Roscoe too! A Pekin drake!

Roscoe has been the Duck In Charge since before she feathered out. Her legs were soooooo thick back then, we were sure she was male... nope, lol! Is your Roscoe a really dedicated bug hunter, too? This girl would rather hunt than eat out of the feeder.

Howie is our only non-Muscovy. We were positive she was a he, too...until my husband looked it up about a month ago, and pointed out there was no hint of a tail curl. She started laying about a week later, lol! He also discovered that female Pekins can be much louder than males (Howie adores the sound of her voice). She couldn't walk without falling over when we got her, and now she's a happy, sassy little thing. :)
