Got the first use out of my dash cam.

I work for a motorcoach company and we installed drive cams on all of our coaches. They have paid for themselves 10 fold since we installed them.
Caught a wreckless driver on tape that caused a wreck that killed some people. The police asked for a copy of the tape. The coach was not involved in the wreck and we gladely handed them a copy. It was used in court to convict him.

Also recorded the accident where a man and woman pulled out in front of our coach. Killed both of them. The tape showed the entire thing. It was sad to watch.

I hope everyone got out of the house ok.

Very nice dash cam. I told my dh he should get one,but I think he would need a front and 2 side cameras. His semi truck and trailer is always getting hit by other truckers and 4 wheelers then HE has to prove it wasn't his fault.

What brand did you get? Is it plugged into the car for power?

I would love one for the car even though rear ender accidents seems to be more common,so a dashboard cam probably would not be the best choice. The way my trunk is I don't know how I would secure a cam for a good rear view.

I know it is not funny,BUT I do find it humerous that drivers of large pick ups often can not see little cars in front of them. I don't see those trucks often, but I am always amazed at their size.Just like mini cars catch our attention. I bet they really don't see some.Hmmm, makes me wonder if they pay a higher insurance since their vehicle is more of a risk.

So sad for the family. I almost cried and it's not even my house

This is the camera I have.

It records out the front with a 170 degree lense an out the back with a 190 degree lense. It also records G-forces an GPS maping an speed. Its all more or less sinked. The GPS info is about 2 seconds in front of the video.
I striped all the other out because it had nothing to add in this instance but here is a video of what all it does.

The video capture he is using to record his computer screen kills the quality. In reality bit cameras as as good as you see in my video.

He also has other cameras an one that you wire 4 cameras up to anywhere on the truck.

Oh, forgot that part. It plugs in to USB an comes with a USB to 12V car plug adapter. I have mine plugged in to my laptop in my truck.
