Gotta love a small country town...

I remember in my past of about 15 years ago I lived near one of those stores and it was great. Thanks for bringing back good memories.

Your story made my day!

I have a neighbor who : Built my coup, help fixed and later replaced our water heater, cuts are grass because we can't keep a riding mower running, and refuse to take anything in return: We tried to give him $5 and a ( I think this is the right amount) $50 gas card for the coop because he built it and donated wood for it but he turned down the $5 and sold the $50 gas card to his wife and use the money to buy roofing for the coop! So I love the country and neighbors!

I think it would be cool to make him a nice little raised coop. One that would hold 4 or so hens with the little run attached like te ones you see on here.

Well, I was sitting thinking about it as I was getting the kids bathed and it occured to me that I'm going to have a bumper crop of wild strawberries here in a few weeks, IF I can keep the chickens out, and I'd make him some wild strawberry preserves.

Then it occured to me I now have 450 feet of 4 foot high chicken wire!! So, tomorrow I'm going fence in my two patches of wild strawberries with my new chicken wire, and I'll definitely have a bumper crop. It'll also keep my husband from mowing them down, as he's on this brush clearing spree.

It really made my day, and I was having a bummer of a Mother's day, too.
