couldn't you just block off part of the large brooder with a piece of cardboard ???

Heats in the middle. doors at each end . Might as well clean the other .

I did something dumb. I cleaned the large brooder for possible 4 chicks. Too big , they will wander away from the heat. So now when I do go out I will need to clean /disinfect the smaller one .

use the big one. Put a broody in there with them. Then you won’t have to worry about the lamp blowing as much.

any breed . you can and I do order pullets only. That's also why all roo chicks are SO much cheaper from a hatchery, They are trying to unload the unwanted and not kill them
