Granny's gone and done it again

We’ve had chocolate “meal replacement” shakes that are pretty good! So, it can be. ;)
Are those sweet? Giving up sweets will be an uphill climb for me. I get Vitamin Water Zero, sweetened with stevia. Only have it once in a while, but it helps with the sugar cravings.

Mostly. Some are a little chalky. DH puts a banana in his. I like chia and ground flax seeds so it’s really thick. There are lots of good flavors! My fav is salted caramel. There are protein bars that are super good, too. We have a kind now that tastes exactly like thin mints, and there’s a salted caramel dark chocolate one I like a lot, too.

We didn’t go sugar free: I eat raw honey on cottage cheese as an afternoon snack, and strawberries are coming into season. I like those water enhancers for sugar cravings. Some days are better/worse than others, but the worst of my cravings were gone after the first couple of weeks. If I felt too snacky I would drink water, eat a handful of almonds, take a walk, wash the dishes, brush my teeth, stuff like that. Just something to get me through to the next snack time. I had the best results eating every three hours on the dot.

Cap, do you or H2o have any idea why these puppy losses might be happening? I know nothing about breeding dogs, just so sad it keeps happening.
I don’t leave mine alone for the first week. Then if the mother is being careful I will leave for short periods. I have my whelping box by my bed so I can just reach over and put the pups on the mom. Or scoop the pups over to mom. I weigh them them once a day and track their weight so I know if one isn’t getting enough. THe first week is pretty intensive. I don’t get a lot of sleep. So many things can happen, dehydration, Puppy can get chilled, mom can lay or step on them. Some just fail to thrive. They are very fragile. Not sure why this pup died. Usually if the mom lays on it it is pretty flatten.
