Not the heritage, they are good. The dark color is the key. RIRs aren't supposed to be red, they are mahogany. Beautiful!

Mine were nice until right before they would have started laying. That was the 1st batch. The other 2 were mixed and started to get mean after they started laying.
I never had a mean one, but they didn't go broody either.

I liked him well enough to not buy him. Why bring such a healthy looking guy into a pen of what ever is going on with mine.

Could be the breeding or the age.
