Also, you are going off of what the neighbor is saying, nice as she may be, she could have misdiagnosed what she was treating. Did she get stool sample tested? Goats can get scours for other reasons, and if she was treating for something that wasn't the problem, and they died...

How does your friend know the medical dose? We need to know how much medication to give per pound of animal. And just to make it even more interesting, almost all dosage weights are given in kg.

That didn't come from the bottle. It's not approved for goats. That info came from Onion Creek Goats or something like that. A person who raises goats and makes it clear she is not a vet.

Ready? It’s actually really easy.


1 whole table is 800mg Sulfamethoxazole and 160mg trimethoprim.

1/4 a tab is 200mg/40mg

So you get 1/4 tab and make a fine power and mix it with 5ml water.

THEN you give 1/4cc for a 12.5lb goat.
