Granny's gone and done it again

Granny!! I finally figured out how to divide everyone up and not need new pens.

I'm going to put the OE marans and the blue cochin together in the broody suite. I'm going to put the HRIR quad in the ugly coop. It'll be crowded, but they'll survive. Then every other pullet/hen stays in the layer coop and they'll be under sapphire or EE roos (until I get rid of them).

that sounds good. Love the rir

I never seen such a dead @ss thread ! One time Im sick and dont have the energy to even get out of the chair and not a soul to talk to.

Oy, you're sick too? Sorry to hear that - but good on ya for actually taking it easy because we all know energy or not you are one that forces yourself to keep going and that doesn't do a darn thing for you getting better. I'm in a bit of the same boat -- DH managed to infect me and as of last night I had to admit I'm getting sick -- so today I'm sitting here battling a monster headache (from congestion) - so figured might as well make use of the time and get online, lol.
WOO HOO -- congrats on the little one!

Sounds like an awesome plan - and no need to do any building, definite bonus!

Hi Mare, its a poppy virus . low grade fever and I am acting like I got a man cold. LOL I hope you feel better quickly. Are you all settled now ?

Cold rainy/snow day here -- nothing that's going to stick, just enough to make it wet, cold and miserable outside -- DH *was* all motivated to get out to the workshop and work on a couple of projects he is supposed to be building for me until, but that didn't last too long so we're just snuggled up on the couch watching football (so not my favorite, lol).
Starting to really get serious about plans for the new coop setup -- surfing for pictures of other setups so I can take the things I like and put them together into what I want, then just have to have DH/FIL figure out how to make it happen, lol, I get the easy part. They better be getting started soon since I intend to pick up chicks as soon as they are available out here (probably mid Feb) - if I come home with chicks they'll *have* to get building, lol.

that sounds fun and you have an added bonus to know what works and what wont. feb. not that far away ! any idea what kind of chicken you want ? Your speckled and EEs are all laying good.

Yes ma'am. They're all in the old coop. There are a few stragglers in the layer coop that I need to move over. And there's one tiny little girl that sleeps all by herself with the goats.

aww, think she is only eating the goat food ?

They don't have free feed out. She does eat with them, though. And she hangs out with the flock during the day. I'm sure she gets to the feeder. Not sure why she sleeps alone.

Low man on the totem pole maybe . I wanted to feed my chickens just what they eat in a day but never did figure out what that was and we feed late in the evening so Im sure other critters are snacking too.
