but how about all the sickness you keep fighting there and the cost of all the meds you keep having to get.

You looked up the french variety doubled price. But your right about the eggs 150 a yr is terrible. Leave it to me to pick 2 of them because I need eggs.

also feed store chicks come from the same hatcheries we order from .

not here I get mine from Cackel and I know Running's chicks come from a different hatchery. And once they go in the box for shipping I am the only one to actually handle them again until they are pretty much full grown.

you know I do. The less they lay the darker the egg. So no layer feed for them !

OH I look every time I go to Runnings BUT the "force" is strong in me and so far have resisted. Even turned down a bunch (like 25 or more) of "free chicks" this spring as they weren't the breeds/sexes I wanted and I am not doing two broody/maternity wards.

Last time my birds were sick it was my fault . Mold was found.

I saw the label a couple times when picking mine up just cant remember who. same with TSC where I will not shop at except in cases of dire emergency, OMG the prices and lack of choice and then don't get me started on the 'IDIOTS" that work there.
