Ya and 2 farmers close by but who knows what they give their chickens. One thing I learned is you can give chickens some really dangerous stuff if their sick that you dont want in your body and thats why I have been buying store bought. I would like to think they are more regulated .

Goodnight. Hope you sleep well. Wind is stronger now, some really big gusts. Guess I won't be sleeping much. Not a fan of wind.
I couldn't find Ming! Searched around and thought maybe she got out. She finally turned up. May have got shut in the bathroom when the wind slammed the door... I didn't see her when I opened the door, but she was probably out in the cat box.
TV just shut itself off! We may end up losing power after all. See ya all tomorrow.

Got the heat on for the first time. Going down to 43* Tonite. I'm getting 4-5 eggs/day even with coop lights on.

Good morning everyone. We had a freeze warning last night, but at 2 am it wasn't below 40° so I doubt it froze. But I need to get busy and finish getting ready for winter. Plus the barn needs to be cleaned out. Have to get that rat(s).

Found my eggs. This is the third black broody. No idea what they’re mixed with, but it’s a good mothering breed whatever it is.

Yes, she has a touch of small pox. Mosquitoes were really bad this year.

We have mosquitoes all year long. But if I can catch him I’ll toss him back out when it warms up tomorrow.

I thought a "green anole" was one of those fancy sauces with avocado and mayo
