The medical dangers of smoking have been known your entire life. I understand it is an addiction. I understand it is hard to quit. But in the end it is your choice.I asked the dr today , How do you learn to cope with pain knowing you will have it the rest of your life every day? She said One day at a time. I said I did what you asked, I went to my dr and drank tons of water. She said quit smoking. Thats causing you pain.
And you didn't play with them?I can remember my little sister playing
They probably used whatever they could find. It does look like cheesecloth, which was probably cheap. That's a shame it got chewed! I have one my Grandmother made as a wedding gift for my parents. And I think there is my baby quilt around here somewhere. This is my great-grandmother’s quilt. And while I’m super annoyed that someone chewed a hole in it () I was curious about the batting because it’s SO. HEAVY.

Any thoughts on this? They look a bit like dish cloths, or cheese cloth. Maybe flour sacks? There’s 8 layers. It’s a quilt for function- the top is just big blocks of mismatched fabric, probably from clothing they made
So cool you have something from your great grandma. I've read that just about any left over fabric was used for batting, especially if the quilt maker didn't have the funds to buy new materials. Original idea was to use up bits and pieces anyway. Hard to tell what it is... cotton something. Sacking, old blankets, any old material was used. Bits and pieces! This is my great-grandmother’s quilt. And while I’m super annoyed that someone chewed a hole in it () I was curious about the batting because it’s SO. HEAVY.

Yes there is.Well, there is now a fire in Sonoma county
I found the Kincade Fire on Calfires, says 10K acres, 0% contained. Located in the aptly named Burned Mountain area, I guess fires there have been fairly common historically. It's ugly, started at 4:26 this morning, the update was from 3:56 PM.Grew overnight from 300 acres to well over 10,000 this morning. Haven't got an update for how big it is now
I'll put poor Penelope up against Spike! Moth eaten would be a BIG improvement. Not much to tell. Some are still trying to grow feathers from the molt... you should see poor Spike. Looks moth eaten. I only have one hen laying, my 2 yr Welsummer. The rest gave it up over a month ago. They're getting pretty old.
Some wind is good, it makes electricity. But as always one can have too much of a good thing! Not a fan of wind.
Looks like woven blankets to me. Must be a pretty hefty quilt with that amount of batting.Any thoughts on this?
