Granny's gone and done it again

:wootPower came back on last night!
Then we realized Ming was missing. :barnieHenry cat was acting very oddly, laying around in places he never does, and meowing, which he rarely does, so now we know what that means.
Spend almost an hour searching for Ming outside in the dark, calling and calling. Scooter was doing is best to find her. Ming finally showed upon the patio when we were all up by the back fence... #1 saw a cat up there. She was very cold and ready to come back in. Henry wouldn't leaver her alone all night... kept getting close and sniffing her all over. She doesn't put up with that, but he persisted. Finally she allowed him to lick her ear. I guess that was enough and he took himself off to bed.
Such drama. I was fairly calm until she showed up. Then I realized how bad it would have been if I'd lost her. She and I belong to each other.
Happily the lights were on, I got a hot shower and some warm food. Not worried about food spoiling or the house birds getting too cold. And FLUSHING the toilet without having to lug a bucket of water in from the old tub I filled in the back yard.... what a luxury!!! Fell asleep early, with Ming laying on top of me.
Today the fire was still burning, there was quite a bit more wind, but we kept our power, as did my dad and brother and sis. Looks like things are back to normal for us for the foreseeable future. Hoping we get rain before we get another high wind advisory. Most of the town is still evacuated. Lot of people sleeping in their cars since the emergency shelters are full. Worse because it has turned cold.
Having 3 episodes of high wind in the space of 10 days is unheard of. Created quite a mess, several fires, but no one has died, only 2 firefighter injuries, 40+ houses lost. Not bad considering 2 yrs ago 38 (or so) people were killed and upwards of 800 homes burned, not to mention businesses. They still have to get that fire out. Come on RAIN!!!

And yet you worry about tornados. :barnie
At least we have warning for this. Tonados attack from the sky.

So my neighborhood is now getting the emails from Sdg&e warning about potential blackouts due to high winds.
Oh no. Welcome to my world. Lot of people here got the campers and rvs out and running. You see them parked in peoples' driveways... nice to have powerful friends... well, friends with power.

[Jane, your quote didn't post!]
Oh Jane, sounds like you are going to be sore for awhile. Take care.:hugs

Hubby's team has to win tonight's game or be eliminated. They are ahead by one game. If they win, there will be another game tomorrow night. I went upstairs and cleaned my room for a while. I get really stuffy up there.
Tom had football on today ! He never watches foot ball. Better then the mexican channel he has been watching I guess.

Picked a green ball up from the park and making guesses. Tom said pear. I said walnut I was right! I used the same knife my GM taught me on how to open. It was delicious
Yummy! Go get some more. They are very good for you.
Oh wait... thought you couldn't eat nuts???

Glad to see your ok Wishing. :hugs How long was Ming missing ? I guess theres fire heading Stars way now. Havent heard from H2o
Did all your food make it ? I bet that shower was heaven !
Thanks. Not sure. I was outside doing yard work... trying to get rid of anything dead and dry. Maybe a few hours.
Yes, fires in Southern Cal too. Star gets to have some excitement now. What a bummer.
h2o I don't think has a fire near... I'd have to check the map, but it is possible she's in a high wind area and has had her power turned off for fire precaution.
