Granny's gone and done it again

Well the problem is, stuff gets into the water and goes to lakes and oceans. I have used it in the past, but I won't buy the stuff or use it.
I know, invasive species are very difficult to eradicate. They have goat rental services now! Even some highway departments do that. I have driven from Nova Scotia to Florida and seen how bad it is. Like snakes in the Everglades from South America, brought in as pets and dumped when the owners got sick of them. Now people are paid to capture snakes, and even get a bonus for really big ones. Florida's native animals are being decimated by these snakes.
I am not picking on you Cindy, millions of people use it. I just choose not to.
I'd love to shoot the person who brought it over to use to keep soil eroding from the right of ways on highways, but he's long gone now. I'd also love to shoot my neighbors because their place is overrun with it, and they do nothing about it. They don't even cut it down, so I spray along our adjoined property, and a few months later it's creeping back over on my land. I could just let it take over and then move, but few places other than in cities are kudzu free.

Looking out my back door at the neighbor's place.. that is also where Meine and Lilbit live.

A closer look.. I keep my land cleared, but with the roots running under ground for long distances, it will pop up 10- 15 foot from the property line. It's even popped up in front of the house at the base of the live oak..

It's trying to take over these trees along side my driveway too.
When I was clearing the land last year, so many trees were bent over so bad, and a lot of them died. Kudzu just totally takes over and kills everything in it's path.

Well that's that.. Rooster roost is done in the bachelor pad.

I made the bottom 'drawer' removable for easier cleaning. And the roof extends out over the drawer so the ones on top don't rain down into the drawer.
I've decided that when winter comes, I have viz queen that I can cover the entire hoop coops with. No need for lockaway houses.

I use it. I'm trying to use less of it though with the thought of not using it at all by next spring, Mainly I use it on the driveway to keep the weeds under control but it's just not safe. DH asked me if I would like an electric weed eater as the gas powered ones are too hard on my neck and shoulders. I told him yep, next spring on the the 'GET' list before the weeds get the better of me.

I have to do something that keeps me from having to get down and manually weed. It's too hard on my neck and shoulders not to mention knees and lower back.

Me and weed killers is kind of a love hate relationship. I hate them but love that I don't have to manually weed and be in pain.
I sit on a step stool to pull weeds. I am down low enough to reach them , and don't have far to bend over. I need to do most of the driveway around my flower garden. Probably get nutrients from the manure I keep digging into the soil. I get bucketful of weeds and put them in chicken runs and on areas where I want grass to grow.

I had a massive MI weed eating. They called it a stemi. I never did get my energy back from that one. My walk to the house is bad. I cant weed whip and I wont use poison. I found my riding mower will just fit down the walk so thats what I do. The weeds have taken over all my flower beds now. Its sad . I put a lot of work into them. Make every thing you can maintenance free as you can while you can because the day will come when you cant. Honeysuckle is my problem. Its even growing between the siding and the wood of the house. I have decided to embrace it and enjoy the smell and say bye to my Japanese red maples

@CSolis can you burn it out with a weed dragon? We have one that we use from time to time. DH loads a 20lb propane tank on one of our wagons and does the burning. I follow with a sprayer tank filled with water to douse anything that threatens to do more than burn weeds. I may switch to that for the drive way weeds but what I noticed the few times that we used it is that those weeds do not come back to haunt you.

I got half of the inside of one section of my original twin coop scrubbed down. It's disgusting. Taking a break for a beer. Hubby is outside taking the shutters off the house before "we" stain it. Hoping I don't have to do too much of it. I have more than enough projects. Lots of maintenance to be done. Winter preparation is looming.
