Granny's gone and done it again

Good morning Grannyites! Hope everyone is healthy, happy and looing forward to spring!

I've been enjoying being lazy, mainly due to the fact that the weather here has been lousy and we have been stuck indoors. So I have been catching up on reading, doing some artwork and doing some baking along with just lying around on the sofa watching movies.

Now the weather is starting to settle down. We are seeing some temps in the high 40s and low 50s so the snow is melting and mud is happening but I've been able to get out and get my netting back up over the run so I can let the birds out. The good news is that I feel like doing projects and actually looking forward to being active again.

Hope y'all have a great Tuesday.

Awww, I'm sorry! We have 3 persimmon trees but we never get any fruit off them. I suspect our greedy neighbors, Mr. And Mrs. O. Possum, get to them before we do. They're rather a shiftless lot, as far as we can tell he's habitually unemployed and leaves her to care for all the kids all by herself, so we don't mind sharing with her, poor thing.
Persimmons are one of my favorite fruits, but they are hard to find.

We have them in Missouri also. There was one by our pond that I kept an eye on when it had fruit on it one year. Funny thing, one evening they were there, next morning gone with a bunch of deer prints around the tree. I sure hope they enjoyed them.
Deer don't go near there. Pretty sure the deer around here know the hogs will eat them.

Same thing happened with our peach trees, @BigBlueHen53. We have 6 heirloom peach trees across the front of our property One year they were full of peaches that I was checking daily for softness so I could pick them for jam. Came in one night and told DH that I was going to pick peaches the next day. Went out with my bucket after breakfast and not a peach on any tree.. All we had were piles of neatly piled pits on the ground.

DH said Deer, nope I said raccoons. Deer aren't that tidy.

LOL Yeah, the wildlife tends to get to the fruit when I wait too long to harvest.

Peaches you can pick a little green, they will ripen and sweeten just fine on your kitchen counter.

Speaking of food, I gotta go prep veggies for a pizza. Laterz!

I know this but I always tell myself tomorrow I will get them harvested.... Why? Cause I have so much to do and barely any time for me.
