Granny's gone and done it again

Same here. I usually pick the peaches when they barely have any give when you gently press on them. I always figure that the wildlife will leave them alone until they are riper.

The funny thing is that we had a bumper crop of wild blackberries this year. Just beautiful fruit that I figured we would be beating the wildlife back to harvest. Nope. They didn't touch them. Not raccoon, deer or bird. We must have picked 8 pounds of blackberries that are in the freezer. I was planning on making syrup or baking a blackberry cobbler then I got sick in September and found out I had diverticulitis. Doctors proclamation...no fruit with seeds not under any circumstances. Well dang it. Now I have black berries in the freezer and no idea what to do with them. DH isn't that fond of them other than fresh picked so unless I can find a way to eliminate 100% of the seeds I'll probably wind up giving them to one of the neighbors.
Make wine!

It was up to 51° today. After i got a certain amount of chores done, i went down to the river to look at the area i was pulling rocks out of before it flooded again. What a mess. The area was eroded away where i had put rocks and gravel up on the beach. And sand had washed in to fill the area i had been shoveling rocks out of . I had to do a lot of digging before i even got any rocks i woukd consider tumbling. Ugh.
But it was pleasant out until my feet got cold. Plus i got water in one of my good gloves that usually keep water out because the water is still deeper than it was.
Then it started getting dark, and the owls were hooting. Time to go in for supper!

Nice temps, cap. We weren’t far behind today. Very mild. I tore my last pair of contacts yesterday so I’m staying in as much as I can until my appt tomorrow. Just cleaning and unpacking, very boring.

Was going to ask wishing, and others, do y’all feed a senior cat food? I’ve always given Chuck either a urinary-tract or sensitive stomach formula, to try to cut down on the puking. But now that we’re in the new house and he’s spending “unsupervised” time in a cat condo, I can feed him separately. He has always had access to free feed and has kept his weight down. He’s in good health, except a little stiffness in the hips, but he's 16 so that’s to be expected.

Anyway, I switched him to a purina senior feed, and I’ve started giving him wet food a couple nights a week. I’m trying to start a routine of “kennel time means wet food.”

Chuck in the bathroom. It’s very warm and he loves it.
