that was at 10:30 todayGood Morning Granny Land
I can't recall. They do stay on the go a lot.Yeah I don't remember seeing him either. Were they going somewhere today?
Thank you for the tips. I felt a little discoraged this evening, she did much better last evening. It could be partly because she's feeling better. You would think if she's feeling better, she wouldn't need pain pills anymore but I think she's supposed to finish them for inflammation.@lovesfarms. Regarding the pills for your pup. What I have tried in the past with our animals is crushing the pills then mixing them with a tablespoon or two of wet pate dog food. I've even used a tablespoon of wet cat food that we have on hand. The cat food seems to work best for us at least as it is smelly enough that it tends to mask the flavor of the medicine. Plus, our dogs love it.
Maybe even some 'potted meat' would work. Anything that is a pate that you can blend the medicine into. Even if she won't eat it willingly, you can use a tongue depressor or popsicle stick and smear it on the roof of her mouth so that she has to work it off with her tongue and swallow it.
If I get desperate to get medicine down a dog I use a teaspoon of chocolate pudding. Yeah, I know that chocolate isn't good for dogs in large quanities but when you are desperate, it hides the flavor of the medicine and our dogs love it. Even vanilla pudding might work as long as your dog isn't lactose intolerant. The trick is to hide the taste of the medicine and get it down them with as little fuss as possible.
I used to use Chocolate pudding with my patients with Alzheimer's disease to get them to take crushed medicines that tasted like crap when you tried to coax them into taking them with applesauce. Choco pudding worked every time as it overpowers any 'medicinal' taste.
Thank youI like biscuity dumplings too, Granny. Don't like the slimy ones. Sorry about the soup.
OMG that sound good. They have been sitting out since 1pm though. 9 1/2 hrs. I would be afraid of the chickenMy mother used to make dumplings from scratch. I use Bisquick. The trick so they don't turn out gummy is to make sure you don't lift the lid once you drop the dumplings into the broth and chicken and not lift it till the timer tells you to.
I wouldn't toss it. I'd pick the chicken out of it if you can or the dumplings, save the 'gravy' and chicken and then make some real biscuits, heat the gravy and chicken and serve it over the biscuits.
Makes my mouth water. I haven't made chicken and dumplings in ages.
