Good choice, Red! You take care of your dear Pearl.Well I didn't make it back in time to catch anyone I don't think. Had to watch some tv with pearl since she hardly ever has time to relax. Lord willing and Noah don't swing by to pick us up in the ark I'll talk to y'all later.
Today has been a better day! 61 degrees and foggy... lovely!!! We had a transformer blow up at the back corner of our little property. We were visiting family in Maui at the time, sis was taking care of the place. She called us because no water... the pump had turned off, which was very odd. Told her we were coming home next day and would deal with it then. Turns out the blown transformer had started a fire in the back yard!!!! Volunteer fire guys used our hose to put it out and ran the water level below the pump which shut it off. We never would have known if a neighbor hadn't told us. You'd think the fire dept would at least leave a note!!!This just about sums up my yesterday. Strangely, I thought it was Wednesday until about 6 pm!?! I accomplished next to nothing.
After visiting my folks, I returned at 10:10 pm to two of these blocking my driveway and a smaller truck across the street (probably a supervisor). Only one car at a time could pass through.

You see the transformer in bottom right of the second picture?

I pulled over to talk to workers."You know you don't have any power, right?"
me:"No, I haven't been home " Duh! So I had to go away for a while. I finally made it inside with power and comfy clothes an hour later.
Fernie's post reminded me that it rained off and on all day yesterday. My dogs think that is their cue to dig holes to China. Rant over.
p.s.
Good Morning Granny's House!

It's not anything like a perfect body they are trying not to show. It's more like an anorexia body or an Auschwitz body they don't want to glorify. I'm all for it.I read on FB that somewhere ? England maybe, that if models show their ribs they wont allow it . They are trying to do away with the "perfect body" image. I have been thinking about sending them some pictures, see if I could get a job. Cause everything on FB is true right ?
It's a travesty that they chicken smilies are gone along with a few others of my favorites. (like the ANGRY one which I would use now if it was here)

And where did the dancing chicken go? Geez no dancing chicken on BYC?
Red, you have the kindest soul of anyone I've met in a long while. I would love to see your grandpa's spoon when you finish it.Cleaning out my grandpa's shop after my grandmother died around three years ago I found a small Oak log that he had split and he had drawn a pattern of a spoon on. It was a small project that he had never finished. Well today I finally started working on it and it's looking pretty good. Now as I sit here looking at it I finally realize that he was in bad shape when he drew the pattern. Being in not so much great shape myself I understand why he tried to do these little projects. I was little when I helped him build his shop. And like him when I got older and had my own house I built my own shop. And also like him I finally made it to where I can no longer build something as big as a shop. But today this little Wooden spoon has given me joy and a sense of pride. He fought in World War II and the Korean War and later worked for CSX. My mom told me that when he was put out of work on disability that he would cry and went through major depression. I to can relate to that. But somehow even though small these little projects seem to help a little.
You need St. Patrick to come chase off those snakes! Was cleaning the porch and broke for lunch. Glad I didn't put the littles out like I had planned.
