Granny's gone and done it again

They're just plain too small... Nothing is gonna help. I'd still have to bring them in multiple times thru winter like I do with the OEGB. They can't handle much more than twenty below. :(

Even at 10 below they get lethargic and just sit there all puffed. Poor biddies. They're over a pound in weight, I'm pretty sure anything smaller would die.

That's why I'm looking forward to an all Chantecler or nearly so flock. No young cockerels to baby thru frostbite every year. :celebrate

It's true!
Do you have to supplement vit D ? I couldnt live like that. Depression would do me in.

Sometimes? We're used to it. Every year we do get low on it, but it's kind of a bother to remember to take them every day so it gets swept under the carpet.

It's not that depressing for most of the year... It's a lovely time where there is no bugs, it isn't too hot, and everything is nice and white because there's a snowstorm once a week, at least. Once it stops storming so often, it does get a bit dreary and grey.

Of course, we still mutter naughty things under our breath when we have to shovel for the third time this week. Nothing will fix that.

its all good. After finding out I just need more sunshine things got way better. I make sure I get sun even in the winter.
Well, that's an easy fix for your climate, eh? I'm trying to imagine someone sunning in December here.... -20, snowing, and wind....
