Granny's gone and done it again

Hey, Gal.
Glad you're home; now do what you're supposed to do. I smoked a pipe for longer than you've been alive...50+ years. I quit, cold turkey, two days before double bypass surgery on Feb. 3 this year, and I didn't even have a heart attack! Still haven't, but I knew it was in my best interest, and they'd tell me to, anyway, so I did it, but my way, on my own terms. Honestly, had I not known the grief I'd catch from DW, I probably wouldn't have quit. The bottom line is: You can't possibly be more stubborn & pig-headed than I am (ask anyone who knows me personally, or the several I'm closest to on my home thread; they'll all tell you); if I could do it, you can do it...you can bet your life on it. Tom, Robert, & CB all love & need you; don't cheat them.
And don't make me come over there & turn you over my knee! :hugs:hugs
Whites, who wants to smoke your pipe after the rooster started smoking it?

Granny, I'm so very glad you are feeling better and finally home. I'm sure you can feel the love flowing around you from your friends here. I hope you can allow yourself to draw on their love and support to help you get through the days and weeks to come. You are not alone. You were missed. You are valued and loved. You are worth the time and care required to keep you healthy, happy, and here! Please remember that.

I've quit smoking after over 45 years by using a vape. I'm allergic to the patch adhesive, the gum made the inside of mouth break out with sores, and the Wellbutrin/Chantix (my dad quit using it) gave me night terrors and eventually hallucinations! Anything you want to know about vapes I can probably answer, as it relates to quitting cigarettes. I breathe better, feel better overall. The biggest drawback with vaping is the initial cost of getting a setup. The ecigs left me completely unimpressed and were actually more expensive than cigarettes for me! Those disposable ecigs are craptastically useless and frustrating. That said, you can get a very good vape setup for about $80-100 (including battery and charger) and it will last for at least two years. Your e-juice will probably run you about $5/week or less. It doesn't take many packs of cigarettes to add up to $100. The cheapest cigarettes around my area are almost $5/pack or about $45 a carton. And your e-juice nicotine content can be customized, along with the flavors. You can wean yourself off the nicotine completely, at your own pace. I've gone from 36mg to 6mg over a period of about a year. I went up to 2 1/2 packs of Camels a day at my worst, so I am proof you can quit cigarettes and at the very least go to a healthier alternative. Just something to consider.

:ya:frow OMG ya'll , Nothing like being the center of attention. I missed ya'll so much ! So glad to be home.
so heres the story, I was gonna drive myself to madison and walked through the house and realized I couldnt. Pain was intense. I wanted a way home so Tom did drive. Bout scared me to death. They hooked me up and run that test about 4 times and said your getting air flighted to Louisville. Umm, Nope, nope, find a truck. They said no worrys we will give you something to relax you. I said, I want it now ! LOL Storm can in and they couldnt fly so I got the truck. They kept giving me morphine every 5 min. I said its not helping the pain. She said thats because your a stemie ? Nothing will help the pain except removing the blockage and you will go straight to surgery cause your heart is dying. I said, Let me smoke a cig. before you put me in the truck. LOL That wouldnt fly. I went from ambulance to surgery . They went through my wrist. They gave me 5 plavix ! Woke up in ICU. 2 stents and 2 more needing was what they told me. Now they are telling me the other 2 blockages are in a bad spot and they want me to try to stop smoking , diet and meds. (its not working) I tried to slip out of ICU (didnt know I had my own nurse) and got busted twice so they decided to dope me up w/ valium and pain pills. Dont remember tons after that except the phone calls and nasty food. They paid for the cab and it was $160.00 I never heard from my DD and I think the neighbor called just to put CB on the phone. No other plans were made. I was mad at the lady that busted me so I kept asking her for coffee then wouldnt drink it. She said, you have a whole cup here you didnt drink. First time was its cold and then it didnt have suger, it did. LOL Anyway. am very very glad to be home and back with ya'll. :love
Well, look who made it! :hugs
We're so glad you're still kicking. Don't do that again, O.K.?

granny lady, you scared the chit out of all of us. :hugs kwhites said it best. If folks like him and me can quit, a tough old bird like you can too. I quit drinking nearly 25 years ago - not easy, but nicotine is tougher, but it can be beat. Regard it is the enemy not that thing that gets us to the 'happy place'. I'm glad that you are back, and hope that you get back to 'normal' as soon as is possible. :hugs

Tell me more. Where is the best place to buy? What kind is the best?
