Granny's gone and done it again

I've never dewormed guinea pigs before. What would I use? I don't see any in their poo. Poo is normal.
You don't necessarily see worms, often they live in the intestine. Vet Depot says use Droncit 5-10 mg /kg of body weight. I would not deworm if pregnant or under 6 months of age.

don't ever use cardboard all bugs love it...
Yes. :( I usually change the boxes out regularly (after I go to Costco!) but things haven't been getting done the way they should around here lately.

Poor Wishing!
Good luck on getting rid of all the mites.
This works well.View attachment 1104944
Thanks Kiki. I will look for that. Like the powder idea. I can mix my own and store the rest for emergency breakouts.

yep.
Same way one would use dog flea spray on a chicken.
It's a permethrin based spray labeled for horses but it works!
I don't spray the chickens! These are red roost mites  . Roost mites don't live on the chickens, they live in cracks and crevices of the coop and crawl out at night to feed on the sleeping hens. The blood engorged females (they are RED) crawl back to lay eggs and keep the cycle going (unless I catch them first ). I spray the coop and roosts so the mites die before they can get to the chickens. You just have to lock the hens out until it drys and then it is fairly safe. Safer than those D@%& mites!

Morning y'all. I've been a busy bee. I completely cleaned out all 3 chicken coops. New bedding and new nest box material. Along with all the normal chicken chores.

I'm taking a short break then I need to clean these guinea pigs out. I think these smell worse than ducks :sick 3 is too many.
I miss my guinea pigs. They are the sweetest little critters.

Didn't set an alarm so I'm still in bed. I think I told a couple folks, but I now have THE LICE. :hit I actually picked one out of my hair while driving home from the airport Saturday. That's not a fun discovery at 80 mph. So it's a good thing that I didn't have a sleepover with Kiki. :(

Still having trouble with snakes. Killed two in the coop day before yesterday, one with a belly full of chicks and one with a belly full of eggs. Only four babies left, but one is the little feather-shanked chipmunk that hatched with the wonky legs. It grew out of it and is now totally normal.

Oh camping! Poor you. Lice and snakes!!! To this I say . Kill them.
There are snake repellents, but you don't want to mess with the Napthalene that is in most. I saw this one. Says it's safe around pets, but not sure about the chickens eating it. Might keep the snakes from eating them! Maybe you could lay a perimeter around your coop or yard.
