Granny's gone and done it again

H3LL, we're uptown around here; 2 Walmarts & 2 Southern States within a 10 mile area!
What! Whites sounds like you are in a city. 2 of each!

All I got is a save a lot that's cold section isn't trust worthy and a dollar general and family dollar. Walmart I have to drive 20 minutes to get to and they are always out of stuff.

DH just called, figured to be home tomorrow afternoon. Still lots of things to be done. Need to get up early tomorrow!
Home sooner than I expected! Busy busy tomorrow!

I thought it didn't sound like enough. We usually spend way more! But that's a good idea on asking. I'm sure they'll say "oh? It goes to supplies" but if no parent holds them accountable, then who will?

I noticed the other day that the new teachers' lounge is PLUSH. They remodeled the school last year and made a good many upgrades. I think I've mentioned the constant fundraising? So anyway, I'm just wondering who paid for the fancy chairs and rugs, throw pillows, entire wall of decor, etc. I don't ever remember seeing a teachers's lounge fundraiser.

I'm glad they have a nice place. They need and deserve it. But I hope they pooled their own money and went to garage sales.
I bet they charge extra because of those parents that can't or won't pay for supplies.

Well. Hubs brought up a valid point. I'm not set up for chicks just now. So tonight, I dig out the brooder, get things set up and tomorrow...if they're still there it's meant to be.

No broody test needed. The period fairy came by for a visit a day early. Sorry to disappoint y'all.

I gotta say though. Even though hubs has been super silent about it...ever since I told him my suspicions...he's been super supportive and a bit more affectionate than usual too. So I'm thinking if the time comes if I actually do go broody....it might not be as bad as I fear.

I wasn't set up for chicks when I brought my first 10 home. I got home after midnight, ran to the storage building and grabbed a storage tote. And that was that. Food, bedding and lamp I bought when I picked them up.

I think he'd be ok :) maybe in the near future I'll get a package with a chick in it ;)

What drives me nuts is the people that beg for free school supplies. Then get mad when no one drives to their house and drops them off. I see it all the time on fb yard sale sites.

The churches around here supply ALOT. They get the lists for grade levels and make up packages with stuff. Even backpacks. But parents refuse to go to the back to school event to get their kids what they need. The church even provides dinner. We have at least a dozen churches in town. All different locations. And it breaks my heart to see kids go to school on the first day with nothing.

Ok. Off to make dinner for HE. He gets cranky if I let him get hungry.
I have a son like that, ever since he was a baby. He just got done making his lunch to take to work tomorrow. Yay! He's a big boy now!

I bet they charge extra because of those parents that can't or won't pay for supplies.
Exactly. The school should take care of all that anyway. There is plenty of money going to the schools these days... it's just a matter of priorities. like teachers' lounges.

What the what. We have a newer school. Our staff lounge is chit. Cramped with old appliances. It's less than half the size of a classroom. There are 2 microwaves and must be from the early 90's. It's possessed. The fridge is one of those tiny ones for apartments. Not big enough for all the staff we have. And that's the only lounge we have.
