So glad you've come through well so far!!!! I hope that holds true through the weekend when the brunt of it hits.
The winds, as I understand it, are to be a bigger concern Saturday ---- news said someone local had reported 3 inches of rain in their rain gauge since yesterday, but I'm thinking that's a bit high for what actually fell. The wind is what is worrying me -- there is a cedar tree in the side yard that NEEDS to come down. When we were looking at the house I had commented about it not looking good and the landlords mentioned it was not doing well after the drought the last year or two but were hopeful it might still come back...........just in the last two months it has declined even more. Apparently I'm not the only one who has noticed, yesterday the neighbor on the other side of the side yard came a'knocking -- he was very concerned about the tree and impending windstorm. Explained that it was not "our" tree so DH will be passing the concern along to the LL today......would really prefer it not come down as there is only one direction it could go that would not hit our house, his house or the apartments behind us -- and even if it goes the "right" way it'll block the street (we are on a dead end) and take out the power lines.
This past weekend during the sister slumber party we all loaded up and made a trip to the coast, and for dinner we stopped at one of my favorite little hole-in-the-wall places where we had the most fabulous seafood. It is so nice to be back here where the seafood is FRESH!
It sounds like you are none too keen on the house, I hope that things are able to work out in a way that is best for you.
