Granny's gone and done it again

Hi guys! Well I caved and ran to Tsc to pick up a cheap chicken coop. The baby chicks in the garage are starting to act like ducks! :barnie I can't take it anymore. Bad enough that I change their water 4x a day because of sheddings, now they are knocking them over and flooding the brooders.

Also they had egg flats for 99 cents for a 12 pack.

I feel your pain on the messy littles. :hugs
I just checked locally my TSC still wants 49 cents per carton. :barnie

50 c. for an egg carton is terrible. Thats what they are here too but I havent bought any. Amish lady down the road says people drop them off to her all the time . I got some from her. I did buy a package of flats but I wanted those because they fit the bator for lockdown.

Okay, so my mood is leading me into the danger zone.

TSC We love it. We hate it. In general, customer service stinks.
No one likes their ignorance and seeming lack of feeling for chicks and ducklings.
I have 4 stores "near" me. Closest 11 miles, furthest 16 miles. For some reason, the furthest is least expensive and staff is most agreeable. Sometimes they run out of what I need. Soooo......

I went to the closest for the second time Monday after swearing off on them 3 years ago. them "Did you find everything OK?"
me "Yes, but it wasn't OK. Would have bought more but all the other bags had holes chewed in them and plenty of mouse poop on shelves."
them "Will there be anything else?"
me "I'd Like to make sure the manager knows there is a rodent problem."
them "Oh, I'm sure he knows."

There are plenty more stories that I just swallow.

I'm now looking into switching to smaller local stores that sell locally grown and milled feeds. I'm going to ask on Texas thread for personal results with Bryant feed.
I stopped at one on the way home - 4 miles from home - and they were very nice. Opened a bag of a new product - 9grain scratch with oregano and garlic - which they had just rec'd that morning. Just to show it to me. Would TSC have done that?

I don't know. I've had a bad week. If someone's nice to me, well, I like that.

The old red barn one. It's the only one anyone in 100 miles carry at the moment and I had to drive 45 to pick this one up. I just got back home sorry.

Ally, do you raise the waterer up on 2x4 or whatever you have handy ? They must be past time to move if they are big enough to knock them over. LOL
Not in the brooder. Last year I did and they would climb in and sit. They are EHAL chicks lol and some are younger by a week and a half. I was gonna put them out last weekend but the other chicks are asshats and was beating up in them.

Mine are flats. Holds 30 eggs each and there are a dozen in a bag.
Rural king has foam cartons for 29 cents.

I've went through cartons like crazy! I had a whole bunch but my goodness I ran completely out and bought some for the one lady I seek to. The rest have been in a basket lol

I've had problems with Tsc at 2 locations near by also. The one is 20 minutes away and the other is 45. The prices are expensive. I'm going to start buying food from just rural king from now on and that's 45 minutes in the opposite direction. $12.50 a bag vs $18 is worth the drive.
